Mac unable to detect multiple external displays

Hi all!

Was recently upgraded to a new Mac for work, provided with the following: 13-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray Apple M2 Chip with 8-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine 8GB Unified Memory 256 GB SSD Storage. I've upgraded to MacOS Monteray 12.5.1.

My old Mac allowed me to connect multiple external monitors - however, since plugging in the new Mac, it will only recognize one monitor at a time. For example, if I have both plugged in, the first one that was plugged in and recognized is the one that is working (this is the case for both monitors - there's no question that they work.) I've rebooted in just about every way imaginable (unplug the monitor adaptor, power down laptop, replug the adaptor, restart computer) and a million other variations there.

I've seen this issue pop up periodically on this forum from time to time but wasn't able to find any more recent posts. Anyone have any advice?

The 13" MacBook Pro (with Apple Silicon) supports a single external monitor.
