How do I create the .swiftpm for the Swift Student Challenge? (on Mac)

Is it required to use playgrounds or can i also submit a normal Xcode project?

Go there and read carefully all instructions.

Requirements:

Your submission must be a Swift Playgrounds app project (.swiftpm) in a ZIP file.

There are some sample templates available on the Developer website. However, you can also create one in your iCloud storage using Swift Playgrounds app for MacOS if you don’t have an iPad on hand. - Sample Apps
