Xcode fails to build because of a bogus development team not selected

wondering if anyone can help me. Apple is no help.

I am having trouble building two iPhone projects. I also have iPad projects that build successfully. I have been building these iPhone projects for years including a few weeks ago. Xcode is 13.2.1 and Macos is 11.6.3. Xcode is giving an error that development team is not selected but the projects are auto signing and the team is selected.

I don't know why xcode is randomly throwing this error this week for these iPhone projects and how do I fix this?

Any advice will be much appreciated. These are very important apps.

And you were building these for years and Apple is no help. Might be best to reach out to Apple developer support if disabling and re-enabling auto code signing doesn't work. Just upgrade your OS and Xcode and move on given a bunch of issues were fixed in Xcode 13.3.
