How can I assign more RAM(memory) for the copy/move function?
As we control the memory for other software to get from the base OS. While we install any software we assign a specific amount of memory like for JVM and Oracle etc.
for me to copy 160G its shows 3 hr :-(
I am pretty sure the limiting factor here is not the RAM allocated to the copy/move process but instead the speed of your devices. What is the transfer rate of your source device? What is the transfer rate of the target? Are you using USB? Are these SSD devices? Is it a network connecton? All of these have for more impact than the amount of memry allocated to the process.

My OS dirve is on NVMe. I'm moving files from NVMe to internal HDD.
My Initial question is still the same, like every function in any OS needs some memory to perform its jobs. so why we don't have control over the memory size for the copy/move function? like we control while installing other software.
