Spotlight Indexing issues and Outlook 365

I thought I would give this forum a shout to see if anyone can assist. I have a user running Monterey with the latest version for Outlook 365. His mailbox behaves correctly in OWA and a Windows version of Outlook, running on a Windows box. The search feature is broken in Outlook for Mac. We have tried all the suggested remedies with no luck, reindexing mail profile and entire drive. Recreating profile with a new name other than Main Profile. Reinstalling Office 365 after completely removing it.

We can get the search feature to work very briefly after a reindex, but it does not last. It is as if it stumbles across an item that corrupts the index or crashes Spotlight.

Does anyone know which log files I can look at in Console to possibly get more information on what is going on?

And if anyone has the fix I would gladly except that as well.

There has bee loads of chatter about this for the past several weeks and there is no current fix. Microsoft says they're working on it. One user had success updating to the beta option in AutoUpdater to get a beta Outlook version, but that didn't work for most of us,
