AR creator. Step 1.

Hi,

I'm literally at Step 1 of wanting to deep dive into AR content creation. But... BEFORE I get started, I've been researching to try to figure out which AR platform has the best chance of being a BIG player with the widest public adoption.

I've read Apple is planning many new releases in terms of hardware, wearables and software.

So my questions are:

  1. Do most (biased) people in this space feel that Apple's AR solution(s) will be a major player in the next 1 - 5 years?

  2. Since I only want to create AR experiences, does anyone have a suggestion as to the BEST starting point to deep dive into learning and getting started creating experiences?

I appreciate the feedback.

  1. Definitely a major player, with a dedicated $3000 AR headset at the end of this year.
  2. ARHeadsetKit‘s tutorial series - you don’t even need iOS or Swift experience to try them. If you have 5 hours to spare, it covers a lot of content like a crash course.

If that is an indication of what a serious player it will be, Facebook (sorry Meta) announced it stopped its own XROS development…

But if you fear a biased view here, you can learn other environments… But you will have so much to learn that anything you learn will be useful. And before you are ready to develop a commercial app, key players will be known.
