Current Links for OS Version DLs?

I was trying to locate a version of Big Sur to test against, but attempting to download a version from App Store fails now.

I was searching the downloads section here, and things seem to be organized a bit differently from the last time I searched. Are there still links to download past OS versions? If so, can someone please point me to a link for Big Sur?

I also tried to just download via Terminal, but methods that had worked in the past seem to not work currently.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey, Colonel Had you tried it from the Apple Official website/ App store? I think there maybe any cookies issues too.

The links for past OS versions on the main Apple site trigger AppStore to open. Clicking “Get” in AppStore in turn causes System Preferences software update to open. Progress spin happens, then a message that the “file is unavailable” appears (paraphrasing…it may say “download unavailable”, something like that).

I tried doing this in Safari as well as Chrome, and also seeing if the links directly led to downloadable files, but neither seemed to resolve the problem.

Searching with "apple old macos", I can find this article.

How to get old versions of macOS (Part of Apple Support pages.)

Better read the instructions in it carefully and follow the link in the part Use Safari to download macOS on your Mac

Yes, these are the non-working links I refer to. When these links are clicked, the behavior I described occurs.

Any chance of Apple getting some working links to the operating systems up so that people can install them on systems for testing? Or is there some other way to get them?
