What are the known USB-C dock issues with Monterey?

I have an Ikling 15-in-1 USB-C dock. It was working well until today when I updated to Monterey.

What works:

  • My Toshiba 4TB drive in a USB 3.0 port.
  • The HDMI cable to my 1440p monitor.
  • Power to charge the laptop.

What does not work:

  • My USB 2.0 Logitech G203 mouse (in any port). Thankfully I had a backup bluetooth mouse.
  • My Hidizs S9 Pro DAC/amp (in any port). It recieves power but it is no longer recognized in preferences as a sound output device.
  • My Sandisk SD card in the SD card slot.

I have similar issues with a different brand of 15-in-1 USB hub (Woohubs B07XCBVQRT) on an M1 MacBook Air

Working:

  • Charging PD at full wattage
  • HDMI to 1440p monitor (+ sometimes it causes kernel panics and restarts but that was even with Big Sur)
  • USB flash drives, External Hard Drives

What doesn't work that used to work on Big Sur:

  • Peripherals in general (usb Mouse, Keyboard, Wacom tablet, webcam)
  • DAC/AMP combo through USB
  • Ethernet (Realtek chipset but the driver doesn't seem to work)

I have not tested either Microsd or SD. (edit: added webcam to list of not working)

I wonder if the circuit board inside of the case is the "same" for the two docks. I've heard that companies will make the same boards and sell them to other companies who will just put their logo on it.

I got one (8-in-1) from a company called Mokin on Amazon that has no issues so far. I can't paste the link but I can tell you that the current title/description for the product is:

USB C to Dual HDMI Adapter, USB C Docking Station Dual Monitors for Windows,USB C Adapter with Dual HDMI,3 USB Port,SD/TF, PD Port Compatible for Dell XPS 13/15, Lenovo Yoga, etc

I think I've found a solution for now with my MBP M1 2020. After the Monterey upgrade, my 7 in 1 USB-C Hub by WKD stopped all USB connectivity (mouse, keyboard and external storage etc)

However I had a small USB-C to HDMI Adapter 4K, Multiport Type C adapter with USB 3.0 and charging port I was using on my iPad Pro. I plugged this into one of the USB-C ports on my MBP, used a USB C to USB male adapter for (Acessorz _ on Amazon UK) to connect my 7 in 1 USB-C Hub into and all the USB ports are back working again.

I'll try and give the descriptions below of what I'm using.

Hope it helps anyone out, as I've been trying to sort this issue non stop for hours.
