Cannot get Always On Display to Work with my App

I'm not sure what I'm missing, app is compiled with Xcode 13 and I got it to work awhile ago and now I keep getting the default blur/clock instead of the AOD.

Am I missing something here, In the documentation (link) it states the following "Apps compiled for watchOS 8 and later have Always On enabled by default. "

Turns out the person doing our builds was on Xcode 12.

Can you provide some information about where you are running this app (in simulator or on device, and on which device model and OS version in either case)?

  • I'm running it on the device (wOS 8.0.1).

    Thanks

  • Deployment target is 6.0

  • Very weird... 1.) I made a build and distributed it through test flight, I saw it wasn't working 2.) I decided to build it via Xcode and run it on the device, didn't work 3.) Deleted the app on the watch, ran it again on the device from Xcode and now it works Seems like this could possibly be a test flight issue? Idk, will continue to tinker with it.
