What in-app purchase caregory is this product?

Hi there,

We are running a freemium business model for our digital health campaigns, meaning that users can sign up and participate in a 5-week campaign for free. These campaigns are held 3 or 4 times annually and between campaigns nothing really happens in the app.

Now, when users sign up for one of these campaigns as a FREEMIUM user, they have the option to upgrade to become a PRO user. This grants the user 9 extra features for the specific campaign. When the campaign end, the user returns to being a FREEMIUM user, but will have the option to upgrade again in a future campaign.

So, according to the different in-app purchase categories available to us. Which should we choose? this is not a subscription (and users might be scared to purchase if it is promoted as such). It’s not really a consumable like fish-coins in a fishing game. If we choose non-consumable we are in conflict since this product expires after 5 weeks.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Thank you in advance.

Hi. I am not familiar with freemium business models. But maybe you could make one non-consumable product out of each of, let's say, four campaigns in a year. So for 2021 four products: PQ01-2021, PQ02-2021, ... and for 2022 four products: PQ01-2022, PQ02-2022, ... Once the sales period for a campaign has expired, you no longer offer the associated product by removing the product from the store. Anyone who has purchased the product can participate in that exact campaign.
