Face ID on the next Mac coming

Is the next MacBook pro or air gonna have face ID?

Can you keep the touch bar as an option for the MacBook Pro for people to chose, e.g: you give the colors to chose from, then give the option for no-touch bar or for a touch bar installed. I really want a touch bar on my MacBook.

I also have a comment:

the thing you are doing on IOS 14.4 (app tracking transparency) is a really good idea. so don't let Facebook or any other company boss you around and make you delete app tracking transparency

hope you accept this, #1 Fan

No one knows if the next MacBook Pro/MacBook Air is going to have Face ID. They wouldn't tell us this here, and something like this is probably directed towards Feedback Assistant rather than the Developer Forums.

Hey AppleM1,

Very nice suggestions you have there!

I too (like many of us presumably) think Face ID HAS TO come to the Mac next. I thought quite extensively about this and, unfortunately, I think we won't get Face ID on any multi-user capable machine any time soon.

In its current state, Face ID is a single-user-only biometric authentification protocol. I think some sort of hardware tweak or a decrease in the security "stubbornness" of Face ID as we know it must be preventing Apple from going all in...

And that's also why I think iPadOS will not support multi-user any time soon either: the Pro has Face ID and I don't see Apple offering a much requested feature to all iPad BUT its Pro version. The iPad Pro's Face ID always seemed more advanced than the iPhone's, so maybe we get lucky there!?

Anyways, let keep our fingers crossed until WWDC; only a few days away!!!

I just got a M1 iMac and something unexpected happened with the touchID key on the keyboard. I think it is a GREAT way to lock the computer quickly. You just tap it on the edge or with an unmapped finger and bang it's locked and it goes to sleep instantly. I think I'd miss this a lot of they went to faceID!
