Obsolescence and the new way of consuming

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011, that has a problem on its performance since I bought it. The Apple care changed the logicboard in 2015 but it’s still with issues like lazy, duplicate images when initializing....I upgraded it with 960 gb expecting it would have more life. The fact is that it’s conspired an obsolete product and now I have tha same problem but a i can’t replace or repair it, even though it was bout in Australia and I’m in the Brazil. I’m disappointed with this planned obsolescence. There are not currently national laws to prohibit companies like Apple to do it, the worst is that it turns the old product into waste. France is an exemple of a government compromised with environmental and consumers rights, it prohibited the obsolescence of a healthy and usable product. I was wondering about the obsolescence problem, and it is not just referred to products. People are becoming obsolate as well.. can they be upgrade or just be replaced for a new version? No good!!!

Hi, How are you today? Im new in this forum and sorrry if i posted 2 times.. it was a mistake. Im interested in some tpics of this forum and i find similar enquirers to mine. Sorry if I upset youu. but i just want more information about sistem and hardware. Im really desapoited with apple.. I know 10 years is a resonable time. My be.. probably. But the issue a have is since I bought it.. its called a hidden vicios and think apple didnt care. Im a law student and this situation inspired me to write an article about planned obsolecence and governments regulation. If you dont mind, i do care about enviromental and obsolete products in general is a huge problem. Read about the “Risk Society “ ftom Ulrich Beck. The life of a equipment reflects in our life. I dont want my mac live forever..i just want them to find a solution becouse this issue with logic board is enough to be refound, replace or repair. And if knew that i wold not buy this one. Especially couse i work with graphic programs. My article will show that there is no regulation for this problem but some responsable government are working to regulate it. Its not Apple that is going to tell if the product its vintage or obsolate, it should be analized very carefully considering especially the planet we live and wich kind of consumer are we turn to be. See you…

It is useless to post 2 threads for the same topic.

In addition, developers cannot do much for you, we are just developers, not Apple customer support.

Considering that a 10 years old product has some limits is a proof of planned obsolescence is a far stretch. Unless you consider that OS versions, apps, should be kept frozen for 20 years ?

Have a good day though.
