Brightness Slider not working || Big Sur 11.3

Hi!

I just updated my Macbook Pro 2017(with Touchbar) to Big Sur 11.3 and I cannot adjust the brightness of my screen. The slider in the touchbar moves but does nothing, and the slider in the control panel is grayed out.

Please help!

I reverted back to Catalina. Everything is fine rn. Won't update to Big Sur until this is resolved.
Update: I have tried doing a SMC reset and a PRAM/NVRAM reset but did not work.

Kindly help
I tried the same resets and no luck.

Is the problem resolved in macOS Big Sur 11.4? Has anyone tried the update?

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro with TouchBar 500GB SSD, and I have had this happen when I first installed Big Sur.

Try clearing cache. These steps are what I take and work all the time.

  1. Quit all apps (except essentials like Finder), including any (third party) apps in the menubar. This video summarises steps 2-3: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RecawpaaGCyT9tZXT31D2XNuBVvp9EH_?usp=sharing

  2. On Finder (or on your desktop) click on Go. Hold Option or Alt and Click on Library.

  3. Go to Cache folder and delete EVERYTHING (in the Cache folder only)

  4. Restart

If none of these steps help, your only hope is to see if the MacBook can self-determine if something is wrong: A Hardware Test

A last resort may be to either Reinstall MacOS (either keeping your personal files or deleting them)

Sorry if none of these help.
