Finder issue with Big Sur 11.2.3 - spinning beachball on any file or folders

Hi,
I have an iMac Retina 5k, 27" 2017 w 3.8GHZ process and 64gb of memory with a 2t hard drive and iCloud. Since the move to Big Sur (Big Slow) finder hangs and gets spinning beachballs if I try to move a file or folder. I can do this on my other iCloud devices that are on Catalina 10.15.7 without issue.
I've rebooted in safe mode. I've remove all start programs. I've reinstalled Big Sur 11.2.3, I've run 1st aid on all drives and they are good.

Anyone have this issue and try all these things? Anyone have a fix. I'm out of ideas and I even chatted with support to see if they could help no go there and I'm dead in the water now.
Hi,
same problem with me. I need to relaunch Finder on a regular basis. Very annoying. I prefer waiting for an update than change my system.
I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve tried everything you listed as well. No help. I know a “me too” response doesn’t help…but me too :(
I have the same problem and it is driving me nuts. Come on Apple, get it together. We need this fix. Finder is taking forever to open simple folders not to mention copying or deleting...
I have the same problem. I can't save docs and files and need to restart the finder. At first, I thought that maybe the problem was the browser, but after a few times happening the same thing, I saw the problem is in the finder.
the biggest mistake I made was to activate iCLoud desktop and Document folder on my new M1 Mac. everything hangs forever impossible to delete files on desktop I have to go on iCloud web to remove file from the cloud then go command line style in the terminal rm -r and stuff that is really a big issue. poor performance
This is a HUGE problem as it hangs up my work. I get the spinning beachball when trying to save something, move a file, open a file, print a file - but other than that, I can watch videos, listen to music, or read an email. Thank heaven I have a MacBook to work around the Finder fail on my iMac (Late-2015, 3.2 GHz Quad-core processor). Yep, Big Sur 11.2.3 is a bust. Have tried Recovery, have reinstalled Big Sur twice, have used CleanMyMac as I always do, have talked to Support (who spent 20 minutes with me on this Apple-created problem, gave me a couple How-To PDF's, and sent me off with a pat on the heinie to solve it on my own. Hey Apple: we need this fix quite urgently in 11.2.4 !!! And that's coming when?
Agreed this has been killing the work I need to get done. It’s like I’m on a 286 platform from the 80s. When will this get fixed? So far everyone on this thread has tried many fixes only to find no solution
I just upgraded to big Sur yesterday and since then I'm having the exact same problem. There is frequent spinning when I use finder and it has make my work efficiency extremely slow.
Same here. I know it’s useless to post this without any solution, but it’s sooooo frustrating. I feel like I am back in the 90s, waiting 1 min for each operation. Does anybody know if there is a way to contact Apple directly and spam them about this?

Hi, i have the same problem. It‘s been month now. On some days eveything works without any issues on other days its a nightmare too work… Pretty sure it has to do with iCloud Drive. Do you have any solutions yet?

One year later, but I have exactly the same problem with 11.4. Pretty sure it is related to iCloud but I can not work with a 3000$ laptop. This is driving me completely nuts and it will be the first reason I switch outside the Apple ecosystem. I literally can not use a 3 grands machine for moving documents into folders.
