How are you setting custom colors? Editing Assets.xcassets? Can't you assign colors to all the children?
Yes it is,

Yes it is,

I guess this yes is for Editing Assets.xcassets?.

How is the color asset shown in the Assets editor?
I can't save the color there next to the appicon in the small color square with the white color, while I set the color(any) to the large Universal squares.
One large window underneath is gray and has a warning on it: not assigned. On the other large squares I have marked the color(whatever).
How can I assign color settings to unassigned children so that the custom colors are visible in the app in the font background and foreground ?

Sorry, but as far as I tried, I cannot get the screen you have described.
  • What version of Xcode are you using?

  • Are you sure you have chosen Color Set after pressing the + button at the left bottom?

  • Can you share the screen shot of your Assets editor by any means?

(It's a pity this site does not have an image sharing feature yet.)

Absolutely.
Hos is it they copied all the bad features of SO, and forgot the good ones.
I don't understand what Apple is waiting to address the most critically missing features of the forum.
Xcode version is 12.3 swift 5.
I'm sure I chose the color as you write. Maybe it needs to type the right command in the terminal ? I named the color and selected the color in color settings, but it doesn't want to color with this color the little square next to appicon color(color name) is still white.
I probably need to assign a color name with swift code 5. The color in the little square next to the appicon is already there.

No, never.

You can edit the asset names by long-clicking on the names, no need to write code in Swift.
I solved the problem, thank you.
