On the face of it, URLSessionWebSocketTask seems like a natural fit for the Combine framework.

Why is there no Combine Publisher for URLSessionWebSocketTask?

You are correct, there is no Combine Publisher for URLSessionWebSocketTask. This may be due to the initial setup and connection upgrade process of a web socket connection over a HTTP connection. I would encourage you to open an enhancement request for this so CFNetwork team can review it further.
