Updating to MacOS BigSur on m1 macbook air

Im having a problem with updating to macOS bigsur. I reset my m1 macbook air to clear my SSD and when i tried to download macOS BigSur it downloads as expected but nearing the end an error message occurs saying “An error occurred preparing the update. Failed to personalize the software update. please try again.” I’ve tried atleast 3 times now and it still doesn’t work, help please : (

Is it fixed yet?

I think Apple Support don't have any new instructions beyond https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211983.
I am also facing the same issue on M1 Mac Mini
