Finder not responding with Big Sur

Upgraded Mac Mini to Big Sur and after installation Finder is not working, tried to reinstall in safe mode but problem persists any ideas how to resolve this problem?
Having the same issue.
Currently as a workaround I am doing:
Open Terminal -> Run this command

cd /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/ && sudo ./Finder


Added a custom alias & running it at startup using Automator

For me, the problem was in the OneDrive Extension for Finder, I disabled that and delete the OneDrive app and now it's working.

I had the same issue with my 2017 iMac 27". Did you find a solution? I am currently reinstalling Big Sur after running first aid and disconnecting all external devices to see if that resolves it. I tried suggestion by rajatkn but it was giving me an error. Once rebooted I will try the OneDrive deletion but if you found something can you please let me know.

I have a similar problem on a Mac Mini 2014 i7 it works fine for a while the suddenly finder stops responding normally, if I try to open a new finder window nothing happens, if I click on the finder icon nothing happens. However if I double click a drive on the desktop a finder window opens, I still can't open a new one and now if I click the icon it moves to the open one. Also occassionally the HDMI loses sound I jest get clicks all other devices still work just HDMI sound goes. It's not always convenient to restart so at least I have a work around.
Big Sur is definitely not as reliable as the previous version and often hangs for a while on the coloured ball of death, sometimes it recovers sometimes the only option is power off with the 4 sec hold on the power button.
Same exact issue, was driving me crazy. It's also affecting when I try to upload something using a browser, it's excruciatingly slow. I went down that rabbit hole for awhile before realizing it's the finder in general
I'm facing the exact same issue, I tried re-installing macOS Big Sur as well but there's no success. Finder doesn't budge, moreover, it hampers other applications as well
Same issue. Devastating to workflow for the past week. I have multiple user accounts. Mine is an administrator account. Have run disk utility First Aid on all available volumes, then reinstalled Big Sur OSX V. 11.3.1. On restart and login, Finder fails to load, and iMac is unbearably slow. Went into Safe Mode and created new admin user. Finder opens quickly and IMac runs like a top, but of course, all the stuff I need is under my original admin user, so I restart and log in under the original admin user and again, no Finder, iMac exceedingly slow. Ready to tear out my hair. Apple, anytime you want to jump in this thread to help out, feel free. I am going to have some very ****** off clients soon!
I read somewhere to disable iCloud. Did that and everything works great now— except iCloud related things, like mail, contacts, notes... I hope they fix this soon.

Exact same problem. Updated recently. Ever since Finder not working. Have tried opening in safe mode. Force quitting. etc. Only suggestion that has worked is to log out of iCloud. But soon as I log back in same problem. 😡
Having the same issue for the past several months and have just been dealing. My laptop is only 6 months old — got it just weeks before the M1 came out (dumb move) As a designer it is completely messing with my workflow. I did a hard reboot, first aid, even uninstalled big sur and reinstalled, and have been on multiple calls with support with no real solution. Everything loads fine when i open my finder from another application, but when I try to just open finder or open a zip file I get the rainbow wheel. I have to relaunch to even get it to shut down.

@Apple please hop in and fix this please!
Ditto to the above. "Exasperating" and "excruciating" are putting it mildly. It is wasting SO much of my time and making all of my work take infinitely longer than it has any right to. But I have to get my work done, so this issue has eaten a huge portion of my family time and time I could be doing things to offset the mental health impacts of the pandemic. Not. Cool. APPLE...PLEASE HELP US!!!!!
Same issue but it started months after my upgrade to Big Sur.
The workaround of opening Finder with a sudo command works.
Creating a new admin user opens Finder without issue but my main account remains unable to use Finder. Deleting com.apple.finder.plist files does not fix the issue.
Same issue with Finder. Disabling iCloud/Apple ID. Haven't turn it back on yet! It just started out of the blue, I have already been running 11.2.3 since it was released… I am really regreted I upgraded from Catalina at the end of last year. Also some other minor (yet annoying) issues with some apps also not opening/unresponsive since the upgrade… Trackpad loosing bluetooth connection quite often as well.
