Phone Hotspot Not Availabe

Latest beta for Big Sur, Macbook Air 2020 connects to house wifi without problem but will not locate mobile phone for hotspot connection. Anyone know a work around or have similar issue.
I started having the exact same issue in Beta 7. I was hoping that Beta 8 would solve the issue. Alas, it did not.
I am having same issue on Big Sur 11.0.1.
Was never a problem on Catalina
Same here. Catalina had no issues connecting to hotspot via password and now it just connects for a second (blue bar shows up with 1 connection on iPhone) then disconnects. Help!
Same problem, BigSur is not able to find and connect with my iphone. Catalina was super efficient in connecting with the iphone. Please put back this piece of Catalina in BigSur
Same problem here. But it has no problem showing my wife’s phone.
If I manually activate hotspot on my phone et shows up after a few seconds.
Same here with Big Sur 11.1

UPD: Somehow it got fixed after I turned off Handoff on all my devices, restarted them, re-enabled Handoff, and restarted devices again...
Sign Out of your iCloud account on your mac, and sign back in. This fixes the problem with handoff that was preventing your mac from seeing your iPhone as an available hotspot.
I am facing the same issue big sure 11.2.3 version
Some times it detects sometime not...
Depends totally on my system mood

I've been using personal hotspot to do my work every day for my internship. Over the past 16 weeks hotspot connection issues have been popping up and seeming to resolve themselves countless times. In the past few days things seemed worse. My Macbook pro from 2014 running Big Sur wouldn't connect to my iPhone 13pro's hotspot for hours at a time during continuous attempts to solve the issue.

I had nearly given up hope as I'm waiting for my new Macbook to return from battery repair. I decided to Airdrop the most recent pictures from my Iphone to my laptop before trying more invasive attempts that might risk losing documents and such (I don't synch my photos to iCloud anymore after a 64gb iPhone experience). While the big picture drop was loading all the sudden my hotspot successfully connected. This seemed strange and completely unrelated through my logic but it kept reconnecting succesfully.

After fiddling with my airdrop a bit more I managed to experience the connection problems again. Re-establishing an airdrop connection through a single picture sent resolved my issues once again. I've tried this solution a handful of times now and it's not failed me. I will keep airdropping to myself now when I run into the issue popping up as I can't update this MB to Mojave.

So I've written this long message to share my experience, as well as my scepticism on the solution I am offering here. Still, after having read and tried all the goofy solutions suggested like; making sure your provider permits hotspots, resetting wifi settings and logging out of iCloud on both devices and nothing having worked, I wish other people going through the best and hope this might help them (and save them from doing something like disconnecting their icloud..) which on its own was quite annoying to set back up to my preferred settings.

As far as I can tell this is a strange glitch that's resolved with a simple airdrop share. I have not had these issues before February this year and have used hotspots an awful lot through the years. Good luck to everyone out there having to deal with Apples suggested (most often obvious) solutions.
