Notarization on Big Sur 11

Hi,

I am working on adapting my apps to be compliant with the requirements of MacOS 11, including notarization. For prioritizing purposes, I want to understand the exact status of the notarization requirements:

Following WWDC, is there any word from Apple about this? Will it work the same way it did on Catalina, or will apps that are not notarized be denied by the OS?

Thanks!

Will it work the same way it did on Catalina, or will apps that are not notarized be denied by the OS?

I don’t understand this question. macOS 10.15 (and, indeed, later versions of macOS 10.14.x) already requires that apps be notarised.

Well, on 10.15 the user is able to manually approve installation of unnotarized apps, basically overriding this requirement. Will it be same for 11.0?

Thanks
No one, not even Apple, knows the future.

Let's say this is true, and Big Sur allows overriding Gatekeeper. Then someone finds a security flaw in the override and the only solution is to remove it. So what do you do then?

You specifically asked about prioritization. This has been a requirement for over a year. Do this now. If you haven't done a long list of crazy stuff, it takes 5 minutes.

(Full disclosure - yes, I am well aware that you have done a very long list of crazy stuff indeed.)
