Finder crashes in macOS Big Sur!

Hi,

macOS Big Sur works for me perfectly until I upgraded iCloud to 2TB. While syncing, Finder crashes and cannot be reopened again. Open Finder will result in -1 error. Trying safe mode, closed WiFi (to prevent syncing) and the result is the same.

Since I cannot access Finder, I can't redownload the beta (downloading to a folder will hung). What shall I do?
I have this same problem. I heard it was related to DropBox, which has a beta that might fix the problem. But the same issue exists where I can download the beta, but I can't install it because I can't access finder. Help!
I am having the same issue. I removed Dropbox, as I hear that could be a reason. But I get the same problem.
I am having the same issue. Were you able to find a solution?
Hey guys!
Try to use the launchpad (assuming that still works) or the cmd+space to open the terminal.
In the terminal, type the following commands:

Code Block bash
cd /Applications/
open Install\ \macOS\ \Big\ \Sur\ \Beta.app

This will open the installer app so you can do a clean install.

Hey guys a quick fix for me was
system preferences > AppleID > icloud drive Options > (uncheck Desktop and Documents folder) It worked for me unchecked it a few weeks ago and the problem hasn't returned
Unchecking the desktop and documents in icloud is a valid solution, but I would like to keep these synchronized in the icloud and have finder work. How is that still not possible? Anybody found a solution?
