Xcode 12 beta does not work on Catalina public beta

Hello!

I've got a problem with running Xcode 12 beta on the latest Catalina beta (19A582a).
When I try to run Xcode I get the following message:

You have macOS 10.15. The application requires macOS 10.15.4 or later.

Should I downgrade to the latest stable Catalina release or do I have any other options?

You have an old version of macOS 10.15. Like what the message says, you should upgrade to macOS 10.15.4 or later.

Which Catalina ? 19A582a does not seem to be the latest. The latest beta is macOS Catalina 10.15.6 beta 2

Are you sure you have MacOS 10.15.4 or higher ? Or just 10.15.2 or 10.15.3 ?

Thanks, but Software Update says that I'm up to date, even if I refresh it. That's why I don't know what to do.
If I'm really not up to date how can I upgrade in this case?

If you launch the Mac App Store on the Mac and search for "Catalina", you should be able to see and download the latest macOS 10.15.5.

Hello, Viktor, Apple is not really good at this moment to tell you that you should consider running Xcode 12 Beta under the macOS 11.0 Big Sur Beta… Please consider installing Big Sur Beta in another test partition of your SSD/Hard disk.

My difficulties with on-device watchOS 7.0 beta development just magically disappeared after doing so ;-)

Xcode 12 Beta is very much made for Big Sur — and it is not really helpful that the Big Sur Beta update comes in a ”Catalina 10.16 camouflage“…

This ”You have macOS 10.15. The application requires macOS 10.15.4 or later.“ is almost crying for 10.16 (which is in fact Big Sur Beta)…

19G46c is a beta release. You need to have beta enabled to receive them.
