I've created a widget for my app and when I try to upload it to be distributed in TestFlight to my internal testers Xcode doesn't allow this operation.

Unfortunately widgets aren't supported in TestFlight yet. This was called out in the News & Announcement: https://developer.apple.com/news/releases/?id=06232020a
