Is it possible to setup a bonjour connection between a watch and iPhone or iPad outside the context of audio streaming?

I have a bonjour service on a pilots iPad that broadcasts flight data from pilots to passengers. Is it possible for a standalone, watchOS 7 app to connect to this service to consume the data?

watchOS does not support apps doing Bonjour directly, as direct connections are currently only open to media streaming use cases. It would be useful to have an enhancement request filed for this with your use case described.
