VMware Fusion

Cannot open VMware Fusion virtual machine. Get these error messages:
A. Transport (VMDB) error -14: Pipe connection has been broken.
B. Failed to initialize monitor device.
C. Could not open/dev/vmmon: No such file or directory

Often virtualization software requires an update to work with a new version of macOS due to underlying system changes.

What version of VMware are you trying to use, and what version of macOS are you running it on?
It looks like they have said that a beta version of VMWare Fusion may be out in the next few weeks.

If you look up VMWare Communities "Big Sur Support?"
FWIW I got it to work without incident after I re-created a new VMware instance with 10.15 and then upgraded to 11.0. I had problems trying to upgrade an older Mac VM, or trying to create a brand new 11.0 image based VM.
You may want to install the VMWare Fusion experimental beta for Big Sur. I've been having some success with it.
