Safari in Big Sur

Why won't Safari open in the 10.16 beta. It just flashes and goes away.
Same issue here. Opens then crashes right away.
I've figured out a way to make it works.
You need to go to Finder, then click on Go > Go to folder...
then go here "Library > Preferences >"

When you are in there, delete all the plist file start with com.apple.Safari.****.plist
Once you do that, Safari should launch again

This sort-of worked for me. I had to delete the com.apple.Safari.***.plist files in ~/Library/Preferences. Safari now launches for me.

Thanks, deleting ~/Library/Preferences/*Safari*, as well as the whole ~/Library/Safari folder worked for me (not sure if the second part was necessary). The problem I was having is that Safari was working mostly without crashing, but using up to 700% CPU and running the fan in my Macbook Pro continuously. I had reported this to Apple in the Feedback Assistant app so I will update with this workaround.
This didn't work for me. What did was to:
  1. use a link in some other app (e.g. Notes) to invoke Safari, rather than from the Launchpad or Finder

  2. in Safari, Preferences, General - change the HomePage url to something you know works, e.g. the link you used from Notes.

  3. Set "New Windows Open With" and "New Tabs Open With" to "HomePage"

Thereafter Safari opens from Launchpad without crashing.
