Remove all IAP from App to offer freemium

Hello Community,

If I have an App already in the App Store and offering in-app purchases, what should I consider if I want to remove all IAP and offer the App for free. I do not want it to show the "warning" of "Offers In-App Purchases" as well as the section "In-App Purchases" in the App Store. Can I simply disable IAP in Xcode and release a new build, as well as delete all IAP features iTunes Connect? Would that do it, or will it still show past IAPs?

Also what are the best practices to be backward compatible for older versions of my App out that have IAPs?

I'd really appreciate any advice / wisdom on this topic.

What did you end up doing? I have the same question. I'd like to take my app from In-App Purchases to paid upfront and not have the "Offers In-App Purchases" showing while still being able for versions of my app to restore their purchases.
