The System Status page says that notarization is alive, but I submitted a small app for notarization more than half an hour ago and it is still "processing".
Is notarization down?
OK, now the status page says there is an outage.
Wow it is still down. So much for getting this installer out tonight.
I've got to rant a bit here. The amount of time we've spent updating our apps and installer build process to support notarizing is crazy, and it is all for pretty much zero benefit for our customers given the type of app we have (power user, not consumer Joe). We are doing it just to get riid of the ridiculous "this might be malware!" scare alert macOS shows. The entire process and locking down of the platform Apple has been doing over the years is aggravating and shows they are out of touch with at least some of their developer's needs and limited resources. They really should have grandfathered all existing apps out of the requirement.
The system status is showing the issue was resolved perhaps an hour ago, but I'm still waiting for a response and an xcrun query is showing "in progress".
This kind of delay or outage is unacceptable.
For those following at home, I just successfully notarised a test app.
