iOS 13 beta 3 CarPlay non functional

After updating to beta 3, carplay now just doesn't work at all. Tried resetting network setting, hard reboot, turning off Bluetooth, nothing. Tapping on the carplay icon on the display has no response. USB cable is fine, another phone running iOS 12 works fine.

I just turned off bold text on my iPhone X/2018 Toyota Camry with the newest ios 13 and the carplay is working great.

Same issue on my Xs max, but X works fine

Same issue. Using iPhone XR with iOS 14 beta 3. Phone connected by USB TO Toyota C-HR. CarPlay is connected, but tapping CarPlay button does not bring up CarPlay interface. Nothing happens.

Just an update. Still not working but an interesting issue has come to light, when connected via USB, the phone drops Bluetooth connection with the head unit but it reconnects after unplugging it. Tried unpairing devices, removing car from CarPlay settings, nothing.

There is another thread on here saying that turning off bold text in settings fixes this. Going to try myself later.....

Thanks for the feedback. I won't be able to try this myself as I reverted to beta 2 but would interested in hearing how this goes in fixing the bug.

Thanks for reporting back. Well this is one of the weirdest fixes for a bug I've heard of. I'll be a guinea pig and update to Beta 3 and test this out.

I can confirm 100% your suggestion. Returned to beta 3, no carplay, turned off bold text, carplay works. Thanks.

Another update on the latest beta 3 released today. CarPlay is still non functional without turning off bold text so the bug has not been fixed with this latest update.

As stated previously. If you go into your settings and then Display and on the bottom turn off "Bold Text" once you plug your iphone into the car your carplay will begin to work normally. I tested this by then selecting bold text and the screen on the car goes black. Once this happens simply turn off bold text again, unplug the phone and re-connect to your car and Carplay will work again. I am not sure with the Beta release if the bold text was pre-selected to be on or if the release of beta 3 has the bug which won't let the carplay display bold text. Either way, try this method and please let us all know how it works out for you. I am using an iPhone X with a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq. I am so glad to have carplay back!!!

Mine does not work either on my BMW. My bold texts was already off. I have iPhone XS Max.
8 steps back with this update.
Bold text really isn't the issue. Did a restore on iPhone 11 Pro, working, until I noticed Maps and Music not on CarPlay. Downloaded them on iPhone, now in CarPlay. Tested, seem to work. Then iPhone sleeps, now I can't unlock it (which was my original issue with this beta update). Oh bother. Back to Restore. ;)
