Filesystem space not reclaimed when deleting

My disk has been creeping toward full, and I just confirmed when files are deleted either via rm or in Finder, the space is not reclaimed by the OS. Not good. 😟


Anyone else seen this?

I had the same issue. I mysteriously went from 20GB free to 20MB free. I then freed up 80GB from DropBox but instead went down to 8MB free.

Any free space on my iMac just disappears, no matter what I delete. I'm looking at Photos, thinking it's up to something as Activity Monitor app showed it and photolibraryd churning Gb of data.
