I am building an app that connects to a video monitor. If I have the ipaddress of the device, I can stream video using the local network versus using the Internet.
There are 2 versions of the video hardware, one has a unique service "_appName._tcp." the older firmware relies on "_ssh._tcp."
WIth the unique app name, everything works well and there is little traffic as you described.
