The same still happens on Safari 18.1 (tested on an M1 running Mac OS Sequoia 15.1):
Playback stops briefly when the license expires. And after that playback briefly stops in regular intervals (each interval has roughly the length of the license duration).
But the expected behaviour is that playback should stop for good after the license duration is exceeded.
Feels like a bug and should be addressed, @Apple.
