Having the same issue for the past several months and have just been dealing. My laptop is only 6 months old — got it just weeks before the M1 came out (dumb move) As a designer it is completely messing with my workflow. I did a hard reboot, first aid, even uninstalled big sur and reinstalled, and have been on multiple calls with support with no real solution. Everything loads fine when i open my finder from another application, but when I try to just open finder or open a zip file I get the rainbow wheel. I have to relaunch to even get it to shut down. @Apple please hop in and fix this please!
