Hello, Kind of the same issue is happening here. Encrypted External drive was running ok for a few months, but while I was trying to write a big file on it, started to fail. Then I run the diskutil and now it keep saying I have typed the wrong password (what I 100% sure is not). Besides that, I'm getting the same error code as you here... Please, let me know if you found a solution to recover your data....Regards.
