Comment on Callkit blocking behaviour is overridden in iOS 18
With this functionality broken, spam numbers will now get through until apps / companies start standing up server clusters or have to start paying for servers to implement live lookups. It's engineering expertise and cost that shouldn't be imposed on app developers that may not have the engineering resources and expertise to build and pay for. Please restore the operation of the Call Blocking and Identification functionality that was working well in iOS 17. Thank you!

Hi Kevin, Not respecting the blocked calls in the Call Blocking and Identification also breaks a bunch of robocall blocking apps that can't implement live lookup because of the sheer volume of robocalls. It's not a scalable option for many apps. It's great that live lookup exists in iOS 18 but this shouldn't break the previous (working) implementation of having numbers that are blocked by the Call Blocking and Identification extension functionality that has existed for years now.
