The widget I have create for iOS 17 uses the containerBackground to display an image in the background. This works fine. But when I set the home screen to the iOS 18 tinted option the background disappears. I want the background to stay because it contains an image of that is meaningful to the user.
I use the following code:
@ViewBuilder
var body: some View {
if let memory = entry.memory, let uiImage = memory.image {
Group {
if entry.showCaption {
memoryBody(with: memory)
} else {
Color.white.opacity(0.0000000001)
}
}
.foregroundStyle(.white)
.widgetBackground(
Image(uiImage: uiImage)
.resizable()
.scaledToFill()
)
} else if let memory = entry.memory {
memoryBody(with: memory)
.widgetBackground(Color.gray)
} else {
noMemoryBody()
}
}
extension View {
func widgetBackground(_ backgroundView: some View) -> some View {
if #available(iOSApplicationExtension 17.0, *) {
return containerBackground(for: .widget) {
backgroundView
}
} else {
return background(backgroundView)
}
}
}
