I have found if the app cursor is prepositioned at the range start, a touch control cut or paste maintains the app cursor at the preposition. If no preposition, the app fails. The app allows cursor positioning any where in the text area from
startIndex to endIndex using press and hold key.
If you touch screen, select a range of text where the app cursor is in , cut or paste the app fails.
