yes, as i understand it correctly someone actually tested the d1 a year ago. problem is that it's not signed so you'd have to disable csrutil, which you may not want to do.

some parts may need tweaks but i know for sure my STX II works well and someone else with a D series reported success, so it's possible there's less work left than i think.
note: arm architectures will never be supported (developer's personal belief imposing strict system requirements)
