Hello Eskimo,
I see your response -
"No. If a device has both Wi-Fi and WWAN, services are expected to transition to WWAN when Wi-Fi is unavailable."
I understand this is not possible, but this would mean every time the network switches the vpn might reconnect if the on-demand is on. Wouldn't that cause the VPN icon to appear more frequently? Is there a way to prevent the VPN icon not flashing every time the network changes?
Note: I restart the tunnel every time a network changes (wifi-cell and vice versa) - Is this the right thing to do?
Is the vpn icon flashing because of tunnel restart or it happens irrespectively?

Hi did you manage to solve this problem? I have similar issues
@yashipallav - did you solve the hotstar app detecting VPN issue? How did you over come this issue?
@eskimo - I have a similar problem with Hotstar, Spectrum TV apps detecting VPN (not through traffic) by some means. I have bypassed all traffic from these apps to going through tunnel, but still these apps won't work.
Hi,
Did you manage to solve this?
It does not help even if we bypass the traffic from these apps going via tunnel.
Some apps like pokemon go detects vpn/proxy based on traffic, and hence we were able to solve this by bypassing the traffic.
But Hotstar or SpectrumTV does not work, until VPN is turned off.
Is there a way to handle this using the Packet Tunnel Provider?
I have same observation with BETA 2 or Public beta. The userAgents appear in random case. The results are not consistent.
It seems more like a defect in iOS 15.
Also, the behavior is same with or without iCloud Private Relay ON/OFF.
I have the same behavior while using on Device VPN (NEPacketTunnelProvider). No User Agents (at least 95% of the times). Randomly, I see few user Agents reported on some traffic.
We have a webpage that renders different functionality / content based on the operating system. We user UserAgent to match for OS

Mine (Bug # FB9329234) was resolved stating - working as designed.
