Same thing happened to me today on my 6s, although it wasn't the beta.
I jumped from IOS 13.6 to 14.2 and just like that, no more Touch-ID
I've replaced the screen a few times, the battery twice and possibly the proxy/facetime camera so I don't know if those repairs have anything to do with it.
