Reply to TextEdit Behaving Odd on Big Sur Update
Oh my gosh ... I thought I was the only one. So glad to see that's not the case. I mean, I wish it wasn't a bug, but glad it isn't just my computer since I just bought it brand new ~2 months ago. I sure hope Apple comes up with a fix for this ASAP; I use TextEdit for A LOT of things ... and need it to be working like it should, not with all of these bug issues which are highly annoying, disconcerting, aggravating and waste time. Thank you.

I debated whether or not to post this, but since, tonight, I was told I was the only one to put in an official report via Apple Support, I decided to share this in case someone else has contacted Apple Support, as well ... or was considering contacting them. I contacted Apple Chat last night, but was told it was something only handled via phone support. I completed the satisfaction survey and gave the rep a good report. But, tonight, phone support told me that most of what the chat rep had told me wasn't true. Phone Support also advised no ticket would be open unless more trouble shooting is done because, looking at this thread, only 21 people have reported this issue. I was told I would have to do a video screen capture with my cell phone to show what was happening. It has been a very rough day for me, and I admit I lost my temper, opting to not waste more time to do more troubleshooting than I already have. I tried to maintain patience because I know, as a former customer service rep myself in other industries, reps are generally limited in what they can do. HOWEVER ... to be told the chat rep didn't really know what he was talking about since he wasn't a certain-level manager ... is frustrating. I'm NOT happy: with TextEdit, my 3-month old computer is performing worse than the computer it replaced. & I need TextEdit to work since that is my chosen program to put all sorts of notes & such in. I shouldn't have to change my processes due to an update-upgrade to Big Sur. Hope everyone is well, given covid19.
