Thanks. I imagine memory limits is part of it. The page ( https://trillionpictures.com/prjx440/tiles ) load is > 300MB of images from about 1500 files. The iPhone11 I'm testing against handles it to the extent neither the device nor the browser crashes.
If it's possible to develop a solution to handle the loading/unloading problem, that would be great.
