I've contacted Apple directly regarding how to respond to the new finger double tap gesture in watchOS 10. Apparently we can't. Here is their reply: "there is no supported way to achieve the desired functionality given the currently shipping system configurations." So, apparently when Apple Apps do respond they are using non-published APIs or something the rest of us don't have access to. Maybe someday they'll provide access for developers as well.
