Had this issue for the first time today.
Mac mini (M1, 2020)
Monterey 12.6
Display 1 - 21.5in, 1920x1080 via built in HDMI;
Display 2 - 27in, 1920x1080 via HDMI through USB-C dongle (my only option for a second display)
