macOS 15.1 Beta 6 addressed the issue.
I had deleted the /Library/AppStore folder, installed the update, rebooted as part of the update process, and once it was all done I could update apps from the Mac App Store again. Closed the FB bug I raised after updating it.

Apologies everyone if this comes as a double post, I could not find the other ones / not sure the other replies we submitted.
@Aleks123 @Ebendigo , I have tried the suggestion @Vatsal Manot suggested but it would not fix the problem for me.
Could you please add details to the steps you took to fix the problem? What are the actual permissions of the folder and who is the owner and group for it?
ls -all on it I meant :D.
Any particular permissions?
