I verified the RPID is signin.example.com not example.com. I can add the aasa file in https://signin.example.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association

I want this exact behaviour. I tried to please my mechanism in the order said by @fxk510 but it didn't work. I think to make the window stay in login screen we have to find a way to delay the return of ** (OSStatus)MechanismInvoke:(AuthorizationMechanismRef)inMechanism** if we are not using SFAuthorizationPluginView (which cannot be customised)
