iOS 14.1...didn't solve anything. My iPhone 7 is still there...dead and USELESS...after the 14.0.1 update and now 14.1...nothing is changed.
I've advised all my contacts TO DO NOT UPDATE to 14.1 if their phone is not under warranty. I'm doing the same on MACOS for Big Sur.
It's a real shame that NOONE in Apple is doing, or saying, something to help us to get our iPhone working as before...not better...but AS BEFORE iOS 14, able to call/receive and browse Internet like phone with Android, for only 50€.
For Apple support we don't exist, 14.0.1 is working "perfectly" and for them it's only an hardware problem....That's All. They repeat the same "mantra". If you wanna fix...buy another iphone (as I've done...to get my data back).
Why don't allow me to install 13.7 again??? Why??? At least allow to your technician to do that in Apple Center...
It's unbelievable what's happening with this update...absurd and this "silence" is adding also more frustration.
The worst experience ever with Apple.

During my journey with this 14.0.1, I've tried also with DFU...but nothing. No activating e No signal.
Yesterday, after the Apple event for iphone 12, I've also tried to install the newest iOS 14.1, downloaded not with iTunes but using a direct link, and installed....nothing.
Today I've restored my Backup on a new iPhone SE (i've bought a new ones to get back my data)...updated from iOS 13.5 to iOS 14.0.1...perfect!
After 1 week i've been able to restore my backup on this new Iphone. Now I'm at the same point of when I had my iphone 7 with iOS 13.7....WOW!!! with a little difference....now my wallet is much lighter.
Cellular line is working perfectly also with a Carrier that is not a partner (Fastweb).
iPhone 7 with iOS 14.01 is still there, in a corner, totally useless...good only as door stop .
When Apple will fix the bugs affecting this udpate I'm quite sure that also my IPhone 7 will be working again.

Hi, my last update.
I've been talking for over 30' with a Support Technician and nothing....for them the update 14.0.1 is not a problem....does not exist a problem. Everything is working fine(???). It's so frustrating, and it is the first time that happen something like this to me....especially with Apple.
Today I've been also to an Apple Center....the story is the same. They CAN'T fixit, They CAN'T DO anything...the only proposal is... "we can sell you a refurbished iphone 7 for over 300€"....end of the story. The absurd was also that near to me there were people with problems with Apple Watch and iPad after updating to iOS 14.
I wanted to revert back and install iOS 13 but...If you install iOS 13...you can't restore your backup (if you have taken ones after iOS 14....i'm using iCloud backup) because is not compatible with iOS 13....then you're stuck in the middle and the only way to exit in short time is "to buy" another iPhone. There's no other way....I don't want spend/waste time and get other frustration anymore...I'll buy a new iPhone because I need my data inside the Apps and to get them back I have to pay the ransom.
This is a lesson also for me....I've disabled all the automatic download/update to MAC OS... Big Sur will be the other ones???!!!

just an update to my problem.
my Iphone 7 is still useless, unable to activate after ios 14.0.1 reset. I've spoken with 3 different person at Support: the 1st one sent me to an Apple Shop of a premium partner...the proposal? Buy another iPhone 7 as a replacement, out of warranty... over 300€...Crazy!!!
the 2nd one ask me to get another SIM of a supported (??) Carrier... Waste other time looking for a SIM of a supported carrier, the result NOTHING.
the 3rd one has open a ticket a will let me know something tomorrow... I hope, btw I'll call the Support again.
Now my iPhone 7 is only a piece of hardware useful only as an expensive door stop.
Everything is started with little problems with iOS 14 and worse with iOS 14.0.1.
The problem is this updated... iOS 14.0.1...FULL STOP.
I'm still wasting Time, Money a lot fo frustration trying to fix. I have a lot of services using MFA and without a working iphone is a real mess to get access to the services.

Allow us to "TRY" to install a previous version of iOS.
An update to my previous post. I've tried a factory reset and a restore from a backup....disaster!!! I can't activate my IPhone 7 anymore. Nothing, Nada....TIMEOUT everytime.
I've tried via WIFI, via MACOS, Hotspot with another phone...in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening...nothing, always the same message!!
This update has been a real Hell....a waste of time, money and a lot of frustration.
Tomorrow I'll bring the phone to an Apple Support Center.

Same problem here, iPhone 7 updated to iOS 14.0.1 in September and after 1 week the cellular line is dead...no signal.
Tried reset network => nothing
Rebooted several times => nothing
Opened a ticket with my Carrier (FASTWEB) => Still waiting for an answer...maybe it will never arrive
I was thinking to restore from a backup....but reading the post I've seen is useless and a waste of time.
So what can we do, now? Wait?...Pray? What?
Tomorrow morning I will try to call the support...there're a lot of people here with the same problem.
