[Q] What type of profiles are officially reported by the ES_EVENT_TYPE_NOTIFY_PROFILE_ADD and ES_EVENT_TYPE_NOTIFY_PROFILE_REMOVE events? It looks like to be only Configuration Profiles. Which would make sense as the properties of es_profile_t match closely the payload keys of a configuration profile file. Also only addition and removal of configuration profiles are reported when playing with configuration profiles and provisioning profiles.

I am unsure what happened, but almost all my documents are missing from multiple folders on my Mac and cloud. I have reviewed all the diagnostics posted on the Apple websites and Q and A to recover it. Everything I have tried. When I can find some of those documents listed (some being Excel spreadsheets) in their app and try to open them, it says that the file has been deleted or is currently not accessible. All of these documents were saved on my desktop, and I searched the computer far and wide, downloaded recovery apps to find them, and found nothing. I am not even sure how they disappeared. I tried updating my Mac to the newest software. As I read, they may appear after that, but there is still nothing.

I've been getting this log.txt pop up on my documents and I don't know what it's about. I looked online and it saying its debugging my system but my macbook is new that i dont know why it would be doing so. Everytime i try and move it to trash and restart my laptop, it just pops back up. Why is it doing this?

Hi Team, I have an Acer Connect D5 Dongle (A very small 5G USB-C Modem). When I plug in to Mac Mac (Sonoma 14.5b) The Dongle is perfectly show in system profiler and IORegistryExplorer like an old Sierra WWAN or Novatel Merlin. But I have an issue in Network pane of System Pref; the modem do not appear in network. Any idea to help me ? Thanks !

I have been trying to get an Intel application, downloaded from the internet, to run on my M1 MacBook. Unfortunately I keep getting the error: "The application "cMv_v0.8_MacOS" can't be opened". Rosetta is installed and working as I am able to open other Intel applications such as Google Earth Pro. I took the following steps to download the application: Downloaded a zipfile from: https://zenodo.org/records/4031812 Unzipped the MacOS download which showed the application Moved the application to my application folder in Finder Does anyone know why this application won't run on my MacBook?

Posting this on behalf of my colleague, who has a project in mind that requires a huge amount of RAM. Is it true that modern Mac Pro's can only have up to 192GB of RAM which is about 8 times less than 5 years old intel based Mac Pros?

My Macbook Air mid-2013 model running MacOS Big Sur 11.7.10 has its system preference broken. The padlock to make changes doesn't do anything when clicked and so does every other tab or setting. Now, I can get into panels like Sound or Accessibilities, but everything that I SHOULD be able to do within them just... doesn't work. Nothing happens when I click on them. It's like they're just images.

I had DuckDuckGo browser installed and working fine on my MacBook Pro for years. Currently DDG Verion 1.85.0, MBP M2 Max Sonoma 14.4.1 Up until two days ago everything worked fine. Then, while using DDG to access a Copyright.gov site a security alert popped up. Now, because I followed a link from an email from the copyright.gov office, I suspected it might be suspicious so I hit escape until it canceled the load and exited DDG. I used the browser successfully the rest of the day with no issues. The following day DDG would not open any websites I tried except two (google and duotrope.com) The next day, no website would open. The error message I received was "DuckDuckGo Can't Load This Page" and "The network connection was lost" There is no problem with my network. All email, other browsers, streaming services, everything works fine. But not DDG. I have reinstalled DDG several times, deleting any remaining DDG files I could fine, in between. I even tried it in safe mode and I rebooted the WiFi router. Still the same error. I've checked network settings, keychain permissions, antivirus permissions (I use intego) I cannot seem to figure out what could be causing the issue. I have another MacBook Pro with DDG installed and it works fine. I tried copying that one to this MBP and I get the same error. Hell, at this point I'd light incense candles and sacrifice a chicken if it would work. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing my issue?

Obviously I am a developer, I was also one back in the day with Borland when they came out with great alternatives to Microsoft! Back then we had two people in a garage trying to develop a tinkerer version of this revolutionary small version of a device to rival the big bucks vaz and huge mainframes. Prts were cheap, we didn’t have disk drives, just tapes. And in concert with someone with Apple in charlotte We d v loped a contacts database to be saved on tape. Then later with Borland I met with a developer to install the correct hp laser jet driver to print. I was main online Compuserve to support a programmable word processor which had its own language. then the Internet came, RjJ Reynolds donated multimultiple lIBM IPCs to our ham club, Grinos came out in C, so I modified it for packet radio across th the repeaters in NC. So I left law school and went working on an Apple //e at a local retailer. I’d replace power supplies and graphics chips for 16 and 64 k computers, occasionally the accountant who needed amore screen. All great but bills were just bareable at that income level. Like the Raspberry Pi’s of today (which I just created. again unfortunately my MacBook Pro 16” display developed a screen went south but plugging in an hdmi to close monitor works, almost. So I call Apple support send me to Greensboro Apple Genius Bar because I have AppleCare, but she continently forg ts to write that in her notes. So when I’m at the store, the do find an issue with my brand new iPhone 15 with AppleCare but I have no proof so they will fix my MacBook Pro. My main development machine. I just published a new apple book last month on it. im 66 now in impermanent housing trying to make myself worthwhile to the community, yet I can’t. I can at best submit a formal complaint to Apple and “hope it gets to the right channels” just like when the first Apple Music rollout deleted 4000 songs because they weren’t in iTunes Match. Apple sent two puzzled techs out for Pinkerton had thousands of followers, but not me. I got from executive support “ we don’t need user input”. And it’s now true: woz is gone, all feedback goes to a robot and the live people ”forget to write down crucial info”. so it all boils down to how will I learn swift with Xcode and use the 15 to upload to the Vision Pro (when I can afford it) when even the newest Mac beta was too big to fit on my MacBook Pro with moving files to the cloud.

Hi folks, I have a 2020 MBP with Sonoma 14.4.1 installed. Now it won't mount the external drive- tried mount in Disk Utility, mount in Recover Mood, force mount in Terminal- nothing. It is greyed out in Disk Utility, but is def connected. I'm having mostly BBEdit (sometimes iTerm2) quit overnight and I can't find out why. I tried running a crontab to see if BBEdit was open every 15 minutes to find the time it was closing but it gave the wrong feedback. Anybody know how I can chase this up? My 2TB external hard drive is failing to appear after I didn't eject it properly. I attempted to mount using Disk Utility which brought up the error 49217 which failed. I have a MacBook Air 2017 (Dual-Core Intel Core i5) and a Samsung curved display (34” ViewFinity Ultra WQHD High Resolution Monitor with 1000R Curvature -Model : S34A650UXN) that used to display fine using a J5 JUD380 dongle to go from the USB A from MacBook to dongle. The dongle is connected to the Samsung monitor via a HDMI cable. Before I shared screen with a 3rd party during an IT session, my screen displayed beautifully. After I ended that session, I delete the software (don't recall what it was) and maybe an additional plist file(s). Now my display is stretched with resolutions options limited at 1920x1080. I have reset the monitor 3 times, and reinstalled OS (currently Montery 12.7.5 beta) 4 times. I deleted the NMRAV. I have tried a different dongle, and tried 3 different HDMI cables. I'm out of ideas and I am NOT a techie - please help!

Mac OS Sonoma beta 14.5 - Macbook Pro M1 With the update to beta 14.5 23F5049f it is no longer allowing detection of an external monitor. Before the update, this would automatically make the external display the main monitor when connecting the USB-C cable. Hello everyone! I have questions, especially for experienced Apple developers. In short, I will start with the most important issue. I am going to study iOS development. As I understand, this is only possible if I am a Mac user. Unfortunately, at this stage, I don't have the financial means to buy a MacBook Pro. This is where my first and most important question arose - for learning (and preferably not only learning) and possibly working on large projects in Xcode (I will also most likely install and use Swift Playgrounds during the learning process) how useful will it be to buy a MacBook Air 13-inch? (If it's better to stop at the 15-inch model anyway? I like the 13-inch one because it's smaller and lighter to move around) I'll probably buy it with an M2 or M3 chip. (Is the chip crucial?) Also, the initial specs I saw for the 13-inch model are: 8-Core CPU 8-Core GPU 8GB Unified Memory 256GB SSD Storage Will this be enough, or must it be better if there were more of them? For some reason, I have to build my iOS app project on target My Mac(Designed for iPhone) instead of using Mac Catalyst. Now I want to access these window buttons, is there any possible way to do that? or print current view/components whatever it is while clicking button?

My Mac will not run Xcode 15.3 which uses Swift 5.10. It will run Xcode 15.2 which uses Swift 5.9.2. The problem I am seeing is that Apple provides the language guide for Swift 5.10 but not the guide for Swift 5.9. Is this a real problem or am I over reacting, if not, where can I get and how do I install the reference guide for Swift 5.9 that will show up in Xcode

macOS 14.2.1, MacBook Air 13″ M1 Hi, I have this issue with my Sandisk Sdhc 64g card - ExFAT - I can't mount it to my macbook M1. It's doesn's pop up. When I try to do this in disk utility - disable but it's visable - i have error: ' (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49244.)'. When I try to do the first aid: 'File system verify or repair failed. : (-69845)'. When i try to erese: 'MediaKit reports bad partition or no map found. : (-5324)'. I have NO problem using this card with my camera or windows computer. In my windows it's not even showing any error - everything look healthy, without issuse, co I can't fix it with windows because there is all good. I erase this card using my windows computer (with no problem) - twice (using fast and slow option). No issue. But it doesn't helped. I tried using 'sudo pkill -f fsck' command in terminal - no effect. With my other sdhc card 32g I don't have any issue with this macbook, so the problem is with The 64 sdhc card and The M1 macbook air connection. What can I do?
