got virus warning after XCode 9.2 installation

Hello,

just installed Xcode 9.2 via AppStore (running macOS 10.12.6). Imidiate after starting the new Xcode 9.2 I got a warning from my anti-virus-program (AVG AntiVirus) which says: "We've moved libswiftDispatch.dylib to your Virus Chest because it was infected with MacOs:BitCoinMiner-AS [Trj.]". And of course Xcode does not start anymore.

As I see it's a file which should be placed in Xcode.app/Contents/Frameworks/libswiftDispatch.dylib. At the moment this file is placed in quarantine.

Now I wonder is that a real danger or is this anti-virus-program overprotective?

What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

Tengo el mismo problema.

¿Alguna idea?

Hi,

It seems that it is a false positive.

See more here: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/86860/avg-quarantined-1password-libswiftdispatch-dylib/p3

This was caused by Avast erroneously marking libswiftDispatch as malware. They quickly fixed it, but in the meantime a lots of Swift using apps were broken By the false positives!

ahhh ok – thank you.

So we do not have to worry about installing the 9.2-version.

thanks
