Samples not getting updates.

I have been out of iOS development a few years. Starting to get back in the game and make the switch to Swift 4 (was Objective-C) and doing some fun projects to start.

Is Apple pulling back on the sample code projects?

They seem to be fewer and older than I remember. I wanted to tinker with HomeKit in Swift 4 but the sample is taking a lot of work to just get running. I think it's Swift 2.

I guess I would have expected most of the samples to be updated for the WWDC and iOS 11 / XCODE 9 / Swift 4 releases.

Just easier to get up to speed on a new language if the sample projects build and you can play a bit. This does force me to dig into the language to get things working, but much more challenging out of the gate.

This is a good time to mention the broken "Fix all in Scope" feature in XCODE so I had to do the first pass one at a time.

Just a little disappointed I guess. I'll get over it;-)

Thanks,

Same woes here. Apple don't seem to consider this a priority anymore. Somebody ported the HMCatalog samples from Swift 2 to Swift 4 (https://github.com/ooper-shlab/HMCatalog-Swift3). Not to mention the MIA Objective-C samples.

I have just replied to you question but my reply went straight to "Currently being moderated". In my experience, postings that "need to be moderated" may remain stuck in "moderation", with no feedback provided. Anyway, if it stays hidden, just search for HMCatalog + Swift3 (updated to Swift 4 two months ago) on GitHub. Cheers!

You must have included a link to that GitHub project. Any links will move your post into moderation purgatory. Just omit the http:// part and it will work fine.
